J.K. Rowling, the author of the popular Harry Potter series has come under fire for her opposition of transgender labeling. There is speculation that mislabeling a person could earn citizens of the United Kingdom two years in prison. Rowling, to her credit, expressed a willingness to serve two years in prison rather than bow to the crazy wokeness that is permeating so much of modern society. She said on X,

"I'll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex. Bring on the court case, I say. It'll be more fun than I've ever had on a red carpet."1

Nonetheless, cancel culture strives to strike any person from their agenda who dares to oppose them. Rowling was just recently removed from Seattle's Museum of Pop Culture for her stance on transgenderism.2

This trend is also happening in the United States. Certain school districts have determined that students can be disciplined for referring to classmates with improper pronouns. One source says,

[P]ronoun policies are [being—JOT] implemented by districts, such as the one recently discovered by Virginia parents. A section in the revised Fairfax County Public Schools “Student Rights and Responsibilities” draft handbook would punish students with suspension for “misgendering” a classmate. In Wisconsin, a school district reportedly filed a Title IX complaint against three middle school boys, accusing them of “sexual harassment” for using the wrong pronouns.3

Can you image innocently calling someone by the “wrong pronoun” or using the correct descriptive pronoun for their birth gender and suffer through a sexual harassment suit for misidentifying some person’s gender? Could you envision a situation where a child comes home and says they have been suspended for “misgendering” a fellow student? That seems to be the direction in which our society is headed.

Along these same lines of reasoning, the Biden administration has implemented a program to remove school lunches from states that have sought to protect the privacy of girls and women in restrooms. The LGBTQ+ agenda includes the idea that those who identify as something other than their birth gender should be allowed to use the restroom of their choice. One source states,

U.S. Senator Roger Marshall announced his Congressional Resolution Act (CRA) of disapproval that would prevent the USDA from retaliating against schools that do not comply with the Biden Administrations LGBTQIA+ ideology in schools…This resolution comes as 22 states are currently suing the USDA for weaponizing the lunch funding against those who don’t adhere to the transgender agenda and allow biological boys to use girls’ bathrooms or locker rooms or have biological boys compete against girls in sports. “This administration is weaponizing funding for school lunch programs in an effort to force public schools to embrace Joe Biden’s transgender agenda,” Senator Marshall said. “The USDA has NO authority to force our children to adhere to woke mandates such as requiring biological boys to be given access to girls bathrooms and locker rooms or allow biological boys to compete against biological girls in girls’ sports,” Senator Marshall said. “My message with this CRA is clear: Don’t hold children’s lunch hostage in pursuit of your woke agenda.”4

In a nutshell, the Biden administration would rather see children go hungry than observe the common sense understanding that women should not feel threatened or exposed to danger by allowing biological males (even those that identify as women) to use the same bathroom facilities that are designated for women only.

Why are people in our nation being forced to comply with the insane political and social narrative that some are promoting? This is more than a violation of common sense—it is a contradiction of God’s word to argue that people can “identify” as a gender they not given from birth. Genetically and physiologically, one is assigned a gender at birth, and no number of hormones or surgeries can really change that fact.

Moreover, a person born as a male cannot have a baby. There is a person in the local school system who identifies as a cat, but that does not make it real. Personally, I would like to identify as a millionaire, but my fantasy regarding my wealth will not work at the bank. This seems outrageous to even mention, but some people in our culture have a real problem with this!

How long will this tomfoolery continue? It is only a matter of time before religious freedoms are impacted by a woke society that wants to force its immoral practices upon those that object to such behaviors. We have gone from tolerance to forced compliance into delusional behavior. We pray that reason and biblical morality would once again prevail in our nation.
